Chance Cutout Rating White Paper
Over a year ago Chance introduced their new 200-amp cutout. Prior to this, all 200-amp cutouts from all manufactures have been restricted to line-to-ground voltages for their maximum design ratings.
What does this mean?
- If a customer wanted a fully rated 15kV, 200-amp cutout, he would have to order a 27kV, 200-amp cutout.
- Old 200 amp cutouts used a term called slant rating. (line-to-ground voltage)
- New 200-amp cutouts use a term called fully rated. (line-to-line voltage)
- Customers were paying extra costs using a larger rating for a 15kV system.
Benefits of new Chance cutout.
- Lower customer inventory and initially cost.
- All 15kV and 27kV 200-amp cutouts are now fully rated. (line-to-line voltage)
