Border States Electric Supply realizes the growing demand from our customers
to efficiently transact business. Technology can be used to deliver this
efficiency.
We will work with our customers and vendors to utilize technology to increase
efficiency. Some of the applications of technology that we are currently

While this is a very extensive list, we know that
the area of increasing business efficiency through technology is ever expanding.
Our business software system is SAP R3, Version 4.0B, an Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP), totally integrated package. SAP offers many tools and options
that empower us to work with our customers to develop the perfect blend of
people, process, and technology.
EDI
Our most successful and mature means of increasing business transaction
efficiency is through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). EDI utilizes standard
software along with a value-added network (VAN) to send and receive industry
standard documents from BSE to our vendors and customers. We support the
following EDI/ANSI transaction set documents:
- 810 - Invoice (vendor/customer)
- 820 – Payment Order/Remittance Advice (vendor)
- 844 – Product Transfer Account Adjustment (vendor)
- 850 - Purchase Order (vendor/customer)
- 855 - Purchase Order Acknowledgement (vendor/customer)
- 852 - Product Activity Data - Daily and Monthly (vendor)
- 856 - Ship Notice/Manifest (vendor)
- 861 - Receiving Advice/Acceptance Certificate (vendor)
- 867 – Product Transfer and Resale Report (vendor)
